Saga Sweeps 2013 Harvey Awards
In a crowded field which included Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye and Scott Snyder’s Batman, Brian K. Vaughan’s SAGA walked way with six awards at this year’s Harvey Awards, including Best Writer, Best Artist, and Best Series.
PBS Super Hero Night
After originally planning to release their upcoming documentary “Super Heroes: A Never Ending Battle” over the course of a week, PBS announced that they would be releasing the full film on October 15th as the centerpiece of a three-hour block of programming devoted to Super Heroes.
DC Receives Death Threats
In the wake of last week’s announcement by J.H. Williams and W. Haden Blackman that they would be departing their critically acclaimed series “Batwoman” after the publisher cancelled a planned marriage storyline between Batwoman and her partner Maggie Sawyer, The Outhousers reported that the publisher has been receiving death threats towards individuals who work there.
DC Brings on Openly Gay Writer for Batwoman
After the ongoing backlash over the publisher’s decision to axe a same-sex marriage storyline, Inside Pulse reported on Saturday that DC Comics has named openly gay writer Marc Andreyko as the new writer on Batwoman.
Marvel Regains Market Share Lead

On the strength of their INFINITY event, Marvel Comics retook the lead in market share for the month of August, according to a report on Sunday over at Bleeding Cool.
